Court date advice/what to do?

i was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol while being 19.

on the ticket it says it is a violation, and i must appear in court

i have been trying to call the prosecutor but he seems to never be in his office, however i have a couple friends on the force and asked them what to do and they advised to plead a no lo. i live in nh and the law here says you get fined a minimum of $300 and you may lose your license. i cant lose my license, it relies on my job and i am student teaching. i have great grades, no previouses either.

how should i plead?

what does pleading nolo in this case even mean?

how should i dress for court?

will the cop that charged me be there?

is there a way i can lower the fine?

is there a way i can keep my license?

this is my first offense ever... im very scared... please helpCourt date advice/what to do?
-your plea is a personal decision. You have three choices: guilty, not guilty, or no contest (no lo). A no lo plea is not an admission of guilt, it just means you choose not to contest the citation. If you plea guilty or no lo, you can talk to the judge about it, and he will render a decision. If you plea not guilty, you will be given a date to return for a trial. They may schedule a meeting with the prosecutor before the trial.

-you should dress conservative

-no, the officer will not be there unless you request a trial

-the fine and license suspension is at the discretion of the judge, it can not be predicted.

You may want to try calling the prosecutor's secretary and make an appointment. In many courts, the appointment is made when you plea not guilty. You can always change your plea before the trial.Court date advice/what to do?
Your previous good character should save you, your license %26amp; career etc.

This kind of thing annoys me so much %26amp; you should be let off for making a silly mistake and be allowed to pursue your chosen career. You sound like a really nice person who will make a difference to the future of young people in this mad world we live in.

Too many people are scare mongered and treated like criminals and that potentially messes their lives up at some point in the future.

I really wish you luck.
If you were in Europe, you would have commited no offence. 21 being the legal age for drinking is silly, in my opinion. The law says you are responsible enough to drive a 1 ton killing machine at what 16? But you aren't responsible enough to have a glass of wine until you're 21? BAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Tell them they're all mad...

...and come to Europe, I'll buy you a beer....LEGALLY!!!!
