I need first date advice please.?

Hey well im going on my first date on friday and i thought that it was a good idea to get a present for him. I got him a water proof watch because he likes to do out door stuff even when its raining but always gets in trouble for being late ^^'. So is that a good choice? And what happens if i get nervous? Do you have any advice on how to act or how not to act?I need first date advice please.?

There is absolutely no reason to be giving a gift on your first date, especially something that costs a bit of money, as in the watch. It's like you're trying to ';buy'; his affections. Hold on to it, and if things work out between you, you can give it to him for Valentine's Day, a birthday, etc. You will be nervous - everyone is on their first date. The best advice for you is to just relax and be yourself. Don't try too hard.

You don't want to seem to pushy about this guy, although he might think it's cute. You won't really know unless you know him really well. But you don't need to get him something on the first date sweetie, but it's a good thought! If you get nervous, it's natrual. If you tell him your nervous he's not going to pay the bill and leave is he?
I have never heard of getting a present for someone on a first date. I wouldn't suggest it. If you really want to give him something, maybe something homemade like cookies or a pie or a scarf that you crocheted. Buying a watch for a first date seems WAY too over the top.
